Our taxidermy training program lasts eight weeks for a total of 320 class hours, and is offered three times per year. Please see our class schedule page for available course dates. Each class runs Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 p.m.

Students are welcome to put in extra hours at their own will. In addition, out-of-town students who travel home on weekends may flex their hours with permission from the Instructor while still obtaining full class hours to meet graduation requirements.

Our eight week taxidermy course covers the following:

  • Birds (upland game & waterfowl)
  • Mammals (life-size, gameheads, & rugs)
  • Fish (cold & warm water species)
  • Antler Plaques
  • Business/Marketing Procedures

All Specimens & Supplies needed to complete the required mounts are included in the price of tuition. Any student who wishes to substitute a specimen for any of the standard ones provided must receive approval from the Instructor. Once approved, the student will be credited (if he/she supplies the specimen), or charged extra if we supply the replacement. For example, the gamehead portion of the course includes specimens and supplies for 2 deer/antelope size gameheads. If a student wishes to do an elk for one of their gameheads, they will be required to pay the difference between the deer & elk specimen & form costs. If the student provides their own elk, they will be credited the cost of the deer specimen.
